Penn State has expanded its coaching staff to enhance its recruitment efforts for high school athletes.
As reported by Chris Hummer of 247Sports and CBS Sports, PSU is bringing in Naz Oliver to serve as a recruiting coordinator.
Oliver arrives at State College following his tenure as the head coach at Shabazz High School in New Jersey, where he led the team to 10 victories this season. Hummer recognizes the school as an elite talent cultivator and has generated three NFL players.
Oliver announced the news on social media Tuesday, “We ARE! Jersey/Tri-State region, let’s collaborate!!!! Thank you, Coach Franklin, for this chance; I won’t disappoint you.
A Tennessee graduate, Oliver secured 18 victories at Shahazz over the last two seasons and his Bulldogs made it to the Group 2 state championship in New Jersey this year. Lauded for his leadership and compassion, Oliver brings a dedicated football intellect and talent assessment skills from high school to Happy Valley, aiding James Franklin’s team in identifying successful new freshmen at Penn State
