With April fast approaching, the 2025 NFL Draft is just weeks away, fueling a surge of mock drafts and speculation as fans eagerly predict their teams’ next moves.
Among the most intriguing teams to watch on draft night are the Seattle Seahawks, who have undergone significant changes this offseason.
Currently holding the No. 18 pick, the Seahawks may not stay put. In his latest mock draft, Luke Easterling of Athlon Sports projects Seattle moving up in a trade with the Chicago Bears. In this scenario, the Seahawks send picks No. 18 and No. 50 to Chicago in exchange for the No. 10 selection, where they select offensive lineman Will Campbell. Easterling provided insight into this potential move:
The Seahawks’ need for significant upgrades along the offensive line is well known, and they take an aggressive approach to address it here. By parting with the No. 50 overall pick, Seattle moves ahead of a division rival with similar needs to secure Campbell, an immediate impact player at guard who also has the potential to transition to tackle in the future.
In 2024, Campbell started 12 games at left tackle for the LSU Tigers, earning first-team All-American honors. He posted a respectable 72.2 overall Pro Football Focus grade and proved himself solid in both run-blocking and pass protection.
While Campbell’s college experience was solely at left tackle, there are concerns about his ability to remain at the position in the NFL. His arm length measures below the 33-inch threshold that many teams prefer for a left tackle.
However, even if he doesn’t stay at tackle, Campbell has the potential to be a reliable guard in the NFL for years to come. The Seahawks are an ideal fit for him, as they could use upgrades at both guard positions.
Currently, Sataoa Laumea and Anthony Bradford are expected to start at left and right guard. Laumea, in particular, struggled last season, earning a poor 36.9 Pro Football Focus grade across 355 snaps. Bradford wasn’t much better, finishing with a 48.3 grade over 578 snaps. Campbell would be a significant improvement over either guard, offering the Seahawks much-needed stability at one of those positions for the long term.
