Lil Wayne made a surprise appearance on Saturday, turning heads at North Carolina’s spring football practice.
The rap icon, who hasn’t dropped a solo album since 2020 but is gearing up to release Tha Carter VI this June, stopped by to spend time with Bill Belichick’s Tar Heels. His unexpected visit added some serious star power to the session — and UNC made sure to roll out the red carpet for him.

That photo is a collaboration no one saw coming.
It’s amusing to see Bill Belichick smiling, especially since his signature scowl was a constant during his 24 years as head coach of the New England Patriots. But it looks like he’s found some joy in Chapel Hill — and who can blame him? A lucrative contract and a change of pace can work wonders.
