Soares, a three-star transfer prospect, heads to NC State after spending three seasons with Northwestern. The 6-foot-2, 231-pound linebacker redshirted his first year before becoming a rotational player, appearing in 23 games over the past two seasons.
In 2023, he tallied 20 total tackles—13 of them solo—along with a pass breakup and half a sack. His arrival gives the Wolfpack added depth and experience at linebacker as the team prepares for summer workouts.
Soares marks the 13th addition to NC State’s 2025 transfer class, which currently ranks No. 59 nationally and No. 13 in the ACC, per 247Sports.
