The Kentucky Wildcats delivered a strong overall performance during the 2024-25 college basketball season under head coach Mark Pope. Although their NCAA Tournament journey didn’t extend far, the campaign was still a successful one.
Koby Brea stood out with an impressive individual season, emerging as one of the team’s most reliable leaders throughout the year.
Kentucky wrapped up the 2024-25 season with a 24-12 record. The Wildcats opened the NCAA Tournament with a convincing 76-57 win over No. 14 seed Troy, followed by an 84-75 victory against No. 6 seed Illinois in the second round. However, their tournament run came to an end in the Sweet Sixteen after falling to No. 2 seed Tennessee.
After the season concluded, Koby Brea made a major decision regarding his future.
Taking to X, Brea shared a one-word post to announce that he is declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft and officially moving on from Kentucky.
Throughout the 2024-25 season, Koby Brea appeared in 36 games for Kentucky, earning 16 starts. He posted averages of 11.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per contest, while shooting an impressive 47% from the field and 43.5% from three-point range.
Although his presence will be missed in Lexington, Wildcats fans will undoubtedly cheer him on as he takes the next step in his journey.
Brea’s elite perimeter shooting makes him an intriguing prospect for NBA teams. With outside shooting at a premium in today’s game, he has the potential to become a top-tier long-range threat at the professional level.
