Otega Oweh has announced that he will declare for the 2025 NBA Draft while keeping the option open to return to Kentucky.
The Wildcats guard shared his plans Tuesday via social media, expressing gratitude to the Kentucky fan base:
“To the best fans in the nation, the Big Blue Nation –
Playing the game I love with your support, along with my family and friends, has been a dream come true. I’m truly blessed,” Oweh wrote. “I’m taking the next step and have officially declared for the 2025 NBA Draft while maintaining my NCAA eligibility.

Oweh transferred to Kentucky for the 2024-25 season after spending two years at Oklahoma. In a storybook twist, he delivered game-winning shots against his former team in both meetings as a Wildcat.
Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 215 pounds, Oweh put together an impressive junior season at UK. He scored in double figures in the team’s first 26 games — and 33 total — earning second-team All-SEC honors. He posted career-high averages in points (16.2), rebounds (4.7), assists (1.7), and steals (1.6) per game.
In the 2023-24 season at Oklahoma, Oweh appeared in 32 games (28 starts), averaging 11.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 assist. As a freshman in 2022-23, he played in 28 games with 9 starts for the Sooners.
