Alabama Defensive Lineman Drawing High Praise, Called ‘Relentless and Hard to Block’

Alabama defensive lineman LT Overton is already drawing first-round attention in several early 2026 NFL mock drafts, highlighting the rising expectations for the standout pass rusher.

Overton and the rest of Alabama’s defensive front took center stage in episode two of The Bama Standard, Alabama Athletics’ summer video series. The episode spotlighted a defensive line unit projected to be among the nation’s elite this season — with Overton expected to be a major contributor.

“He’s very physical with his hands,” said offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor. “He’s got long arms, great pass-rush moves, and he never stops. If I shut down his first move, he’s got a second and a third coming. That’s what makes him so tough to block.”

Fellow defensive lineman Tim Keenan III is looking forward to wreaking havoc alongside Overton this fall.

“Seems like he’s always in the backfield with the quarterback,” Keenan said. “I don’t mind running a pick or playing decoy when I’ve got LT Overton coming off the edge to go get a sack.”

For years, Alabama football dominated the SEC behind relentless defensive fronts. With talents like Overton leading the charge, the Tide hopes to bring that dominance back in 2025.
