From Fighting Irish to Rivalry: Former Notre Dame Cornerback Joins 2025 Opponent.

Ex-Notre Dame cornerback Jaden Mickey is shifting again.

Mickey, who joined the transfer portal in September 2024, had initially pledged to California this past winter. He is now going to Boise State since he is enrolled there.

Mickey initially pledged to Notre Dame during the 2022 recruiting cycle, selecting the Fighting Irish over schools such as Georgia, Michigan State, USC, and many more.

During his three seasons at Notre Dame, the cornerback achieved 23 total tackles, one interception, and defended three passes across 28 games.

For the first time in Notre Dame football’s extensive history, the Fighting Irish will be competing against Boise State in the upcoming season. This means Mickey will head back to Notre Dame on October 4 when the Broncos visit.

Boise State was, naturally, a College Football Playoff team last season, securing a First Round bye as the No. 3 seed. It lost to Penn State in the Fiesta Bowl during the national quarterfinals after completing a 12-1 regular season.
