Officials Under Fire After Controversial Call In Final Seconds of Notre Dame Vs. Pittsburgh

The ACC men’s basketball tournament kicked off on Tuesday with Notre Dame facing Pittsburgh in the 12-13 game.Both teams need a magical run in the ACC tournament to get into the NCAA Tournament. However, neither team played well on Tuesday in Charlotte.

Notre Dame held a 25-22 halftime lead. In the second half, Fighting Irish forward Nikita Konstantynovskyi hit a layup to tie the game at 54 with less than a minute remaining.
Later, Notre Dame forward Tae Davis then missed the potential game-winning layup in the final seconds, which meant the game would go to overtime. Or so everybody thought. Instead, a foul was called on Pittsburgh forward Zack Austin.In turn, Davis hit the first free throw and missed the second to give Notre Dame the 55-54 win in stunning fashion.Here is the play that decided the game.

Fans immediately took to social media to show their displeasure with the call by the officials.
“@FBI INVESTIGATE THE PITT NOTRE DAME GAME. REFS DEFINITELY HAD THE UNDER,” one fan said.“The ref in the Pitt/Notre Dame game should be banned,” another wrote. “that notre dame/pitt game was 100% fixed we are SO back this is March baby,” said another.“That Pitt vs Notre Dame game was nasty work. NCAA needs to be investigated,” wrote another.
