John Cena delivered his second heel promo earlier this week on WWE RAW, where he boldly stated his intention to destroy wrestling and erase Ric Flair’s legacy by capturing his 17th World Championship.
In response, Flair addressed Cena’s comments during an interview with TMZ Sports, confirming that he will be at WWE WrestleMania 41.
Reflecting on Cena’s remarks, Flair said, “I’m just happy to be alive after everything I’ve been through to hear that. I have news for John—people have been trying to get rid of the ‘Woo’ for 50 years. The ‘Woo’ isn’t going anywhere, and neither is Ric Flair. As for him winning a seventeenth world title, the odds are astronomical.”
Flair also expressed his approval of Cena’s heel turn, applauding WWE for making such a bold creative decision.
When asked about WrestleMania 41, Flair enthusiastically confirmed his attendance, joking, “Hell yeah! I’m going to the pool party with you.”
Meanwhile, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray shared his thoughts on Cena’s promo during an episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast. Ray found it intriguing that Cena specifically mentioned Flair instead of simply referring to himself as a potential 17-time World Champion.
Ray remarked, “Everyone already knows what it means. He could have just said ‘17-time World Champion,’ but he made sure to mention Flair’s name. I’m wondering why.”
Cena is set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship next month at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
