CBS analyst Tom Fornelli analyzed the over/under odds for each Big Ten team, predicting whether they would surpass or fall short of their projected win totals. Rather than forecasting exact win counts, his focus was on advising whether to bet the over or under on the oddsmakers’ season projections.

FanDuel has set Wisconsin’s season win total at 5.5 games
Wisconsin football fans may need to brace for another tough year in the Big Ten under Luke Fickell. The Badgers face one of the league’s most challenging schedules, and they have yet to prove they can handle such a gauntlet. While Fickell has worked to strengthen both the roster and coaching staff this offseason, the outlook for next season remains bleak.
CBS analyst Tom Fornelli recently evaluated the over/under win totals for every Big Ten team, predicting whether each would surpass or fall short of the oddsmakers’ expectations. Rather than an exact win-loss projection, his analysis focuses on whether bettors should take the over or under on these totals.
FanDuel has set Wisconsin’s season win total at 5.5 games. That number alone is concerning, but Fornelli’s advice makes it even worse—he recommends taking the under. In other words, he believes Wisconsin will finish with five or fewer wins.
If that prediction holds, the Badgers would once again miss out on a bowl game, marking a troubling trend rather than a one-off disappointment. That’s not what any Wisconsin fan wants to hear. The hope is that Fickell and his staff can defy expectations and turn things around. It doesn’t have to be a College Football Playoff run or even a major bowl game—just clear improvement from last season would be a win.
Oh, and please, whatever happens, don’t lose to Minnesota again.
Wisconsin football is currently in the midst of spring practices, gearing up for the 2025 season. The Badgers will kick off their campaign on Thursday, August 28, against Miami (Ohio).
