Just one day after securing their first wide receiver for the 2026 recruiting class, head coach Bill Belichick and the UNC football staff struck gold again, adding to their impressive haul.
On Sunday, four-star wide receiver O’Mari Johnson from Jackson Academy (Miss.) took to social media to announce that he is “1000%” committed to playing for UNC, becoming the Tar Heels’ second commitment of the weekend.

On Saturday, Belichick and his staff secured the commitment of three-star Darrion Kirksey from Harrison Central High School (Miss.), marking another key addition as the two Mississippi natives are set to head to Chapel Hill next season.
Johnson, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound speedster who refers to himself as an athlete rather than strictly a receiver on social media, is ranked No. 289 overall and No. 12 in Mississippi on the 247Sports 2026 Composite.
He received offers from several other programs, including ACC rivals Louisville and Florida State.
With these recent additions, the UNC football recruiting class for 2026 now stands at 11 commitments, ranked No. 19 nationally and No. 7 in the ACC, according to 247Sports.
