The Kentucky Wildcats are working hard to assemble a highly competitive roster, and they’ve made significant strides in the transfer portal.
With Mark Pope’s first 5-star commit, Jasper Johnson, already joining the team, Kentucky was set to have a talented squad for the upcoming season. However, they’ve continued to strengthen their roster by adding top-tier players.
The Wildcats have secured commitments from Tulane’s Kam Williams and Pitt’s Jaland Lowe, and most recently, they’ve bolstered their frontcourt by bringing in Mouhamed Dioubate from Alabama and Jayden Quaintance from Arizona State.
Now, Kentucky has also reached out to Cincinnati guard Dan Skillings Jr., according to Kentucky Sports Radio’s Jacob Polacheck.
Skillings has spent all three of his college seasons at Cincinnati, playing a key role in the program’s move from the AAC to the Big 12. He has improved his efficiency each year, averaging 9.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game as a junior, shooting 44% from the field but just under 30% from beyond the arc.
A top-100 recruit in the 2022 class, the 6-foot-6 guard hails from Blackwood, New Jersey. His size and experience on the wing would add depth to Kentucky’s roster. However, with the Wildcats also targeting higher-profile players like Jaron Pierre and Wesley Yates, Skillings could be someone to keep an eye on if other options fall through.
