Notre Dame Linebacker Target Antwoine Higgins Recalls Moment He Got the Offer
Anderson High School (Ohio) standout Antwoine Higgins, a four-star linebacker in the 2027 class, had a feeling his offer from Notre Dame would be coming on Pot of Gold Day. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound prospect said Irish linebackers coach Max Bullough gave him the heads-up about two weeks before St. Patrick’s Day.
“I spoke with Coach Bullough maybe a week or two ahead of St. Patrick’s Day, and he told me I had an offer but to wait until that day to announce it,” Higgins said. “We also talked about setting up a campus visit. Getting that Notre Dame offer felt amazing—especially coming from a program of that caliber.”
Higgins, who plays under head coach Evan Dreyer in the Cincinnati area, is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after recruits in the country. During Spring Break, he’s been visiting several top programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, Georgia, Ohio State, and Tennessee.
As for when he’ll make his college decision?
“Honestly, I don’t know yet,” Higgins admitted. “I want to decide early, but the more options I get, the harder it becomes.”
Notre Dame’s reputation—both athletically and academically—is a major draw for Higgins. He’s especially intrigued by the team’s recent success and the program’s tradition of excellence.
“I’ve talked with Coach Bullough over the phone, but we haven’t met in person yet,” Higgins said. “He seems like a great guy. When I think about Notre Dame, I think of it as a strong Christian school with great academics.”
Higgins is currently rated No. 52 overall in the 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s the No. 1 linebacker and the No. 2 overall recruit from Ohio.
