Notre Dame and head coach Micah Shrewsberry have added a major frontcourt piece to their 2025-26 roster with the commitment of graduate transfer Carson Towt.
The Northern Arizona standout announced his decision to join the Fighting Irish on Sunday, bringing with him a strong interior presence the team has been seeking.
Towt posted impressive numbers in the 2024-25 season, averaging 13.3 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. His 12.4 boards per game led the nation, and he reached double-digit rebounds in 28 of 34 contests.
Standing 6-foot-8 and weighing 235 pounds, Towt also connected on an efficient 56.9% of his field goal attempts during his senior campaign. However, his biggest weakness remains free-throw shooting, where he hit just 37.9% last season and has a career mark of 42.2%. He also hasn’t attempted a single three-pointer in his collegiate career.
The Arizona native attracted attention from a number of high-major programs, including Baylor, Cal, Grand Canyon, Iowa, Saint Mary’s, Washington State, and Xavier, before choosing Notre Dame.
