Wisconsin Forward Xavier Amos Transfers to Loyola Chicago for Final Season
The Wisconsin Badgers continue to see roster changes this offseason, with 10 scholarship players departing and five new additions already on board.
Among those leaving are six seniors who exhausted their eligibility, along with four players who opted to transfer: guards Daniel Freitag and Camren Hunter, and forwards Xavier Amos and Chris Hodges.
Camren Hunter was the first to land at a new school, returning to Central Arkansas, where he spent the first three years of his college career. Now, Xavier Amos has found his next destination as well, committing to Loyola Chicago for his final year of eligibility.
Amos, a 6-foot-8, 215-pound junior, averaged 3.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game for the Badgers during the 2024–25 season. He shot 37.4% from the field and 29.4% from beyond the arc in a limited role off the bench.
Before transferring to Wisconsin, Amos was a standout at Northern Illinois in 2023–24, where he averaged 13.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game, while shooting nearly 50% from the floor and 38.5% from three.
A native of Chicago, Amos now returns home to play for a strong Loyola Chicago program that finished 25–12 and placed third in the Atlantic 10 this past season.
While his minutes at Wisconsin were limited, Amos made his presence felt at times, including a 12-point outing with three triples against Washington and 11 points in the Badgers’ NCAA Tournament win over Montana.
Heading into the offseason, he was expected to have an increased role behind Nolan Winter, especially with Carter Gilmore graduating. However, Wisconsin’s addition of Portland forward Austin Rapp clouded his future playing time.
Now, Amos will look to take on a larger role and finish his college career on a high note with the Ramblers.
