South Carolina standout Collin Murray-Boyles has officially declared for the 2025 NBA Draft, as reported by ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.
The sophomore forward, known for his versatility and high-impact play, is entering the draft as one of the more intriguing and debated prospects in this year’s class. Murray-Boyles made his announcement with a heartfelt message:
“To the city of Columbia and Gamecock Nation, thank you for molding me into not only a better basketball player but a better person. South Carolina will forever be home. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who’s supported me since the beginning. With a full heart and determined spirit, I’m declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft!”
Despite South Carolina’s challenges in the competitive SEC, Murray-Boyles shone brightly, earning recognition as one of the top players in college hoops. He averaged an impressive 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game, often stepping into a do-it-all role for the Gamecocks. One highlight was his double-double performance in a tight SEC Tournament matchup against Arkansas.
At 6’7” to 6’8” and weighing around 245 pounds, Murray-Boyles brings a unique skill set to the next level. Scouts are intrigued by his ability to defend multiple positions and his physical presence, even as questions linger about his perimeter shooting and positional fit. Still, his defensive versatility and high motor have drawn comparisons to players like Draymond Green and Boris Diaw, making him a strong candidate for teams in need of a tough, multi-positional forward.
With the NBA Draft set for June 25–26 in New York, Murray-Boyles is projected to be a lottery selection.
