Lane Kiffin Roasts Carson Beck’s NIL Earnings Like It’s the Super Bowl

One of the most high-profile moves in this college football offseason came out of Miami, where the Hurricanes landed former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck through the transfer portal. With Cameron Ward heading to the NFL, Miami sought an experienced signal-caller—and they found one in Beck, who tallied 58 touchdowns and 20 interceptions over 39 games with the Bulldogs. Since his arrival, whispers about Beck’s massive NIL deal have surfaced, with reports claiming he could earn up to $4 million for just one season in Coral Gables. That eye-popping figure recently caught the attention of Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, who didn’t hold back when reacting to it during his appearance on The Pivot podcast.

“Miami gave him $4.3 million?” Lane Kiffin said with disbelief when the topic came up. “Did they watch his game against us?” he quipped, referencing the 2024 showdown where Ole Miss knocked off Georgia 28-10. In that matchup, Beck had a rough outing, completing 20 of 31 passes for 186 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. Kiffin, however, conveniently skipped over the 2023 clash, when Beck and the Bulldogs steamrolled Ole Miss 52-17—Beck throwing for 306 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick.

While the $4.3 million figure hasn’t been officially confirmed, On3’s NIL Valuation tool estimates Carson Beck’s earnings to be right around that mark. Whether that number feels justified or outrageous is up for debate—but one thing’s clear: Lane Kiffin has made his opinion loud and clear.

Sadly, Ole Miss and Miami aren’t scheduled to clash during the regular season, but there’s still a shot they could meet on the biggest stage—the College Football Playoff. If that matchup becomes reality, you can bet Lane Kiffin’s fiery quote will resurface and add even more fuel to the fire.
