Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats coaching staff have been busy on the recruiting trail for the past week, wrapping up their travels by stopping to visit former Wildcats guard Rob Dillingham and forward Julius Randle.
Dillingham, Randle, and the Minnesota Timberwolves are gearing up for Game 3 of the NBA’s Western Conference Playoffs, with the series tied 1-1 as it heads to Minnesota. Pope made a special stop to catch up with them before Friday night’s game.
The Kentucky MBB social media account shared photos of Pope and Dillingham reconnecting at the Timberwolves’ facility. Pope also took the opportunity to meet with another former Wildcat, Jarred Vanderbilt, while on the road. The Timberwolves’ social media also posted additional pictures of Pope and Randle together.
Dillingham has not been part of the Timberwolves’ rotation recently due to an ankle injury, which has kept him out of the first two games of the series against the Los Angeles Lakers. He remains sidelined indefinitely. This season, Dillingham appeared in 49 games, averaging 4.5 points and 2 assists in 10.5 minutes per game.
In other news, Dillingham has unveiled a new Nike logo inspired by his nickname, “Rob Wit the Shifts.” The design incorporates a gear shift, his initials, and his jersey number.
