The Wisconsin Badgers have undergone a significant roster overhaul this offseason, replacing six graduating seniors and four transfers. In response, they’ve been active in the transfer portal, securing commitments from San Diego State guard Nick Boyd, Tulsa guard Braeden Carrington, Virginia wing Andrew Rohde, and Portland forward Austin Rapp.
They’ve also tapped into the international market, adding 19-year-old Lithuanian forward Aleksas Bieliauskas to help round out the rotation. These newcomers will join a promising high school class that includes four-star guard Zach Kinziger, as well as three-star prospects Hayden Jones (guard) and Will Garlock (center).
Yet, the Badgers might not be finished. According to Jake Lieberman, Wisconsin is among several high-major programs showing interest in 20-year-old Croatian forward Ivan Bogdanovic. Listed between 6’7” and 6’9” depending on the source, Bogdanovic averaged 18.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists for SC Derby.
Wisconsin’s 2025 roster is nearly full, with 13 scholarship players currently in place, including returnees like John Blackwell, Jack Janicki, Nolan Winter, Jack Robison, and Riccardo Greppi. However, should the House settlement finalize, allowing NIL compensation to factor into roster construction, the Badgers could potentially shift Janicki back to walk-on status and free up a scholarship spot.
That flexibility leaves the door open for one final addition. While the level of mutual interest with Bogdanovic remains unclear, he’s a name to watch as Wisconsin continues to explore international talent.
