Cam Bynum, safety for the Indianapolis Colts, recently expressed his excitement about facing Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Travis Hunter during the upcoming NFL season. Appearing on the Up & Adams Show, Bynum praised Hunter’s rare ability to play both sides of the ball—as a wide receiver on offense and a cornerback on defense.
Hunter, selected second overall in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Jaguars, recently inked a four-year rookie contract worth $46.5 million. Bynum, 26, acknowledged the difficulty of mastering responsibilities on both offense and defense, highlighting just how unique Hunter’s talent is.
“Just thinking about how much time I spend each week learning the defense and game plan—it’s a lot,” Bynum said. “To be able to do that on both sides of the ball, that takes a different kind of player. From everything I’ve heard, he’s got what it takes. It’s going to be fun competing against someone like that—lining up across from him when he’s on offense, and watching what he can do when he flips to defense.”
Meanwhile, Cam Bynum is gearing up for his debut season with the Indianapolis Colts after signing a lucrative four-year contract worth $80 million, which includes an $18 million signing bonus. Prior to joining the Colts, Bynum spent his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings, who drafted him in the fourth round as the 125th overall pick.
