South Carolina’s 2026 recruiting class went from under‑the‑radar to headline‑worthy—landing a massive commitment that even beat out Ohio State and Auburn
South Carolina football had stayed relatively quiet on the 2025 recruiting front—until now. On Saturday, the Gamecocks made a major splash by securing a pair of four-star twins, Aiden and Andrew Harris, beating out rival Auburn and reigning national champion Ohio State in the process.
The talented duo from Weddington High School in Matthews, North Carolina, gave their verbal commitments to South Carolina while on a recruiting trip to Columbus. According to Steve Wiltfong of On3, both the Buckeyes and Tigers were serious contenders.
Aiden Harris cited “the culture, being surrounded by good coaches, the environment, and building strong bonds” as key reasons for choosing South Carolina.
This commitment marks a significant and much-needed recruiting win for head coach Shane Beamer and his staff.
