Indiana and head coach Darian DeVries continue to build momentum on the 2026 recruiting trail, recently extending a scholarship offer to rising center Collins Onyejiaka.
Onyejiaka, a 6-foot-10, 270-pound consensus four-star recruit, plays for Newman High School in Boston, Massachusetts, and competes on the Made Hoops Circuit with the New England Basketball Club.
This past season at Newman, Onyejiaka averaged 9.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game, showcasing his presence as a dominant force in the paint.
In a scouting report, 247Sports national analyst Dushawn London described Onyejiaka as “one of the most physically imposing big men in his class,” adding, “Standing at 6-foot-10 and weighing 270 pounds, Onyejiaka combines his size and strength to dominate on both ends of the court. He’s an aggressive rebounder who controls the glass, a powerful finisher with a high motor, and a defensive presence capable of altering shots.”
Originally from Edo, Nigeria, Onyejiaka has drawn national attention, with offers from Alabama, Bryant, Boston College, George Mason, Illinois, Providence, Ole Miss, Georgetown, Iowa, UMass, and West Virginia.
According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Onyejiaka is the No. 80 overall prospect in the 2026 class. He also holds the top spot among players in Massachusetts and is ranked the No. 8 center nationally.
On3 national recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw offered similar praise, writing, “Collins Onyejiaka is a big 6-foot-10. He has long arms and he showed mobility throughout the weekend. Still new to the game, he tracked the ball well and attacked the glass both in his area and on the offensive end… He is an intriguing prospect.”
