John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks have secured back-to-back international commitments for their 2025 basketball roster. On Thursday, they added a 7-foot Bosnian center to strengthen their frontcourt, followed by another international pledge on Friday from Angolan center Paulo Semedo.
**Paulo Semedo Commits to Arkansas Basketball**
Hailing from Angola, the 7-foot-1, 220-pound Semedo has inconsistent rankings across major recruiting platforms. ESPN ranks him as the No. 50 national prospect and No. 6 center, while 247Sports currently leaves him unranked, despite offers from Arizona State, Miami, and Florida State.
Last month, 247Sports’ recruiting analyst Travis Branham took note of Semedo’s performance with Team Scoot on the Pro16 Circuit, as reported by HawgSports’ Connor Goodson. Branham praised Semedo’s standout play, stating, “Semedo burst onto the scene with a drive through the lane, finishing with a powerful one-handed dunk in traffic. His mobility, defensive plays, and ability to hit a pair of three-pointers make him a prospect worth revisiting.”
Paulo Semedo, a prospect from West Oaks Academy in Orlando, Fla., will join Arkansas’ expanding frontcourt, led by returning player Trevon Brazile and bolstered by transfers Malique Ewin from Florida State and Nick Pringle from Alabama. The Razorbacks’ depth is further enhanced by Lebanese recruit Karim Rtail and Thursday’s commit, Bosnian center Elmir Dzafic, alongside Semedo.
