Ohio State Hoops: Current Squad Trains with Buckeye Legends

On Monday, head coach Jake Diebler opened the Schottenstein Center’s practice gym to a group of Ohio State alumni who returned to mentor and train with the current Buckeye roster.

Leading the pack were former No. 1 NBA draft pick and Ohio State standout Greg Oden, 10-year NBA veteran D’Angelo Russell, and Chicago Bulls forward E.J. Liddell. Other notable alums included William Buford, Brice Sensibaugh, Malaki Branham, Kosta Koufos, Trevor Thompson, and Seth Towns.

The session also marked the media’s first glimpse of five newcomers to the 2025 Buckeye roster: transfers Gabe Cupps, Christoph Tilly, and Brandon Noel, alongside freshmen A’mare Bynum and Myles Herro. Freshman guard Mathieu Grujicic from Germany was present but unable to participate due to international visa restrictions.

Injury updates: Baylor transfer Josh Ojianwuna and sophomore Colin White are sidelined. White, recovering from minor ankle surgery, is expected to return by summer’s end.
