JONESBORO, Ark. (June 20, 2025) – Arkansas State head men’s basketball coach Ryan Pannone announced Friday the addition of Anthony Goods to the Red Wolves’ coaching staff for the 2025-26 season. Goods will serve as an assistant coach.
Goods enters the collegiate coaching ranks following his role as a Draft Scouting Consultant with the Detroit Pistons. Since 2017, he has also served as the Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder of Swish Cultures, a prominent media platform covering the NBA, WNBA, and various international basketball leagues.
“Anthony Goods comes to us from the Detroit Pistons,” said Pannone. “He played four years in the NBA system, had an outstanding career at Stanford, and spent 11 seasons playing professionally around the world. He’s one of the most dynamic individuals I’ve encountered—his energy, intellect, and feel for the game are exceptional.
“To bring someone on board who not only played at the highest levels in college and professionally but also worked in an NBA front office evaluating talent and preparing players for the draft is a tremendous asset,” Pannone continued. “He’ll have an immediate impact on our program, both for our players and staff. His insight into what it takes to succeed on and off the court, as well as what NBA teams are looking for, will be invaluable.”
A native of Corona, California, Goods enjoyed a standout collegiate career at Stanford, earning All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention honors twice. Over four seasons, he averaged 10.9 points per game while shooting 38.6 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc. As a senior in 2008-09, he led the Cardinal in scoring with 16.2 points per game, hitting 41.7 percent of his shots and knocking down a team-high 71 three-pointers.
Goods graduated from Stanford with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
Following his collegiate career, he joined the NBA D-League (now G-League), suiting up for the Bakersfield Jam, Dakota Wizards, and Fort Wayne Mad Ants from 2009 to 2012. He also played internationally, with stints in Venezuela, France, Israel, Italy, Poland, and Ukraine before retiring in 2019.
Goods brings a global perspective and a deep understanding of both the playing and scouting sides of basketball to Arkansas State as he begins his coaching career.
