NC State basketball’s roster overhaul continues to gain momentum under Will Wade’s leadership, as the Wolfpack secured another transfer addition in former Southern Illinois and Wyoming big man Scottie Ebube. The 6-foot-10, 275-pound post presence officially signed on Friday, becoming the 13th scholarship player on Wade’s first NC State roster.
Ebube, an unranked recruit in the 2021 class, spent three years at Southern Illinois, using two seasons of eligibility. Serving primarily as a reserve, he averaged 5.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in just 9.5 minutes per game across his redshirt freshman and sophomore seasons.
As a redshirt junior at Wyoming this past season, the Illinois native appeared in 23 games off the bench, averaging 5.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest. He was highly efficient from the field, shooting 67.6 percent, though he struggled at the free-throw line, converting just 35.9 percent of his attempts.
“Scottie brings a tremendous physical presence, finishes extremely well around the rim, and is an elite offensive rebounder,” head coach Will Wade said of the newest addition. “He’s shot over 60 percent from the field in each of his three college seasons, and I’m excited to see him in an NC State uniform.”
