FAYETTEVILLE — Long Snapper Eli Haltom Commits to Arkansas Football, Realizing Lifelong Dream
FAYETTEVILLE — Eli Haltom, a standout long snapper from Pleasant Grove High School in Texarkana, Texas, has officially committed to play football for the Arkansas Razorbacks, fulfilling a lifelong dream of joining his favorite college program.
Haltom, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 215 pounds, announced his decision to accept a preferred walk-on offer from Arkansas, turning down scholarship opportunities from Division II programs Ouachita Baptist and Harding.
“This has always been the dream,” Haltom said. “Growing up watching the Razorbacks, there was never another school I wanted to wear the jersey for.”
A member of the Class of 2026, Haltom has earned recognition as one of the top long snappers in the region and boasts a 4.0 GPA, further cementing his status as a well-rounded student-athlete. His size, work ethic, and precision snapping ability have drawn praise from coaches and recruiting analysts alike.
Though he enters as a preferred walk-on, Haltom will have every opportunity to compete for a role on special teams in the coming years. His commitment gives Arkansas a reliable and talented addition to its specialist group, an often underappreciated yet vital part of football success in the SEC.
