DJ Burns and DJ Horne — back on the same court? Playing basketball together again? Count me in! The duo is reuniting on Team Challenge ALS for this year’s The Basketball Tournament (TBT), which tips off in just a few weeks.
Adding to the excitement, the team will be coached by none other than NC State’s new assistant coach, Brandon Chambers.
Team Challenge ALS is the No. 3 seed in the Wichita Regional of The Basketball Tournament and is set to play its opening round game on July 18 at 7 p.m. ET. There’s no confirmed TV info yet, but fingers crossed it’ll be available on a streaming platform.
Aside from the 2021 Wolf Blood squad — a short-lived team made up of NC State alums — there hasn’t been much reason for Pack fans to follow TBT. But hey, it’s mid-July… what else do we have going on? Might as well tune in and watch the DJs — Burns and Horne — run it back one more time.
And if you’re looking for a backup team to pull for, there’s also Raleigh 919 Legends, featuring former NC State point guard Alex Johnson. Not a bad second option.
