Urban Meyer Makes Daring National Championship Prediction for Notre Dame Against Ohio State.

Former Notre Dame wide receivers coach Urban Meyer has shared his forecast for the Fighting Irish matchup against the team he guided to the 2014 national title, Ohio State.

Notre Dame stands as more than a touchdown underdog against the 13-2 Buckeyes, with Ohio State currently favored by 8.5 points on Fan Duel. Meyer appears to believe that the number is somewhat lenient towards Notre Dame.

Meyer shared this prediction on The Triple Option podcast, which he hosts weekly:

“Meyer stated that Ohio State meets the spread.” “I believe Notre Dame’s defense will keep the game competitive…” I believe this will be a low-scoring match by halftime, and I expect the Buckeyes to pull ahead in the second half.

I’ve seen quite a bit of Ohio State this season, and as the national championship nears for Notre Dame, I continually return to one idea:

How will Notre Dame manage to score on the Buckeyes?

Ohio State permits only 12.2 points per game and 251.1 yards per game, leading all of college football in both categories.

Whatever Notre Dame managed in the second half of their Orange Bowl win over Penn State to improve their rushing game, they will need to execute even better from the start to defeat the Buckeyes.
