Big Man Reportedly Draws Interest from NC State Basketball Among Other Programs

W.T. White High School (Texas) center DJ Ogoemeka has officially landed on NC State’s 2026 basketball recruiting radar.

However, considering the timing of his offer — and the fact that new Wolfpack head coach Will Wade mentioned this week that the staff is still looking to add another frontcourt piece or two for the 2025–26 season — it raises the question of whether Ogoemeka could be a candidate for a late reclassification to the 2025 class.

“\[Ogoemeka] has the tools and intangibles to develop into a promising player at the next level,” noted MADE Hoops scout Momodou Suwareh in June, describing the 7-foot, 220-pound big man’s agility and upside.

According to On3, Ogoemeka now holds five Division I offers: NC State, Rutgers, TCU, Kansas State, and Texas Rio Grande Valley.

At this stage, he does not yet appear on the 247Sports 2026 Composite rankings and remains unrated by both 247Sports and On3.

NC State’s 2026 offer sheet now features more than a dozen uncommitted prospects as the program continues to build its future under first-year head coach Will Wade.
