BREAKING: Talented South Carolina CB Jordyn Best Commits to NC State for 2026
NC State has added a key piece to its 2026 recruiting class with the commitment of Jordyn Best, a highly athletic cornerback from Columbia, South Carolina. Best, a standout at Ridge View High School, announced his decision after considering finalists Boston College, Georgia Tech, and Syracuse.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound defensive back is rated a 3-star prospect and ranked the No. 16 player in South Carolina for the 2026 cycle, according to 247Sports. Known for his elite speed—clocking a 4.31-second 40-yard dash and a 10.52-second 100-meter sprint—Best brings explosive athleticism to the Wolfpack secondary.
During his junior season, Best posted 22 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 2 interceptions, showcasing his ability to impact both in coverage and against the run.
He took an official visit to NC State in early June and was heavily recruited by cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell. Best becomes the Wolfpack’s 19th commitment in the 2026 class, which is shaping up as one of the more balanced groups in recent years, with a strong mix of defensive and offensive talent.
With his commitment, NC State gains a high-upside defensive back whose speed and instincts should help fortify their secondary in the coming years.
