Big Ten Network and Fox Sports analyst Jake Butt is showing confidence in Indiana football.
The former Michigan standout and current BTN analyst listed four Hoosiers among his top 20 players in the Big Ten Conference.
His rankings include Elijah Sarratt at No. 17, Aiden Fisher at No. 11, Mikail Kamara at No. 7, and Indiana’s highest-rated player, junior cornerback D’Angelo Ponds, at No. 6. Ponds trails only Nicholas Singleton, Matayo Uiagalelei, Caleb Downs, Drew Allar, and Jeremiah Smith.
Ponds broke out as a sophomore, recording 55 tackles (35 solo), 4.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, and a blocked punt. His standout play earned him First-Team All-Big Ten and Second-Team All-America honors.
Fisher also shined, collecting First-Team All-America recognition. In just one season, he climbed to No. 16 all-time in Indiana football history for single-season tackles and was named First-Team All-Big Ten.
Kamara proved dominant in the trenches, starting all 13 games and leading the nation in total pressures with 73. He added 47 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.
Sarratt provided a spark on offense, earning Third-Team All-Big Ten honors. He hauled in 53 receptions—the most by a Hoosier since Whop Philyor in 2019—for 957 yards (sixth in the Big Ten, third in yards per reception) and eight touchdowns (tied for eighth in the league).
