The Georgia Bulldogs’ wide receiver room is a mix of proven veterans and fresh talent from both the transfer portal and incoming recruits.
One of the most notable additions is senior transfer Noah Thomas, who arrived from Texas A&M after leading the Aggies in receptions (39), receiving yards (574), and touchdowns (8) during the 2024 season. Expectations were high that Thomas would quickly become a key weapon in Georgia’s offense.
So far, that hasn’t materialized. Through three games, Thomas has just five targets, three catches, and 24 yards — a slow start that has sparked questions about his role in the Bulldogs’ passing attack. Still, head coach Kirby Smart expressed confidence in the veteran’s mindset and work ethic.
“It’s really been unfortunate because there’s been some times that his shot or his number was called, and we didn’t necessarily protect it well or something happened or something came in the way,” Smart said. “He has not been phased by it — at least he’s not shown it to us. He works hard. He buys into the team morale and concept.”
Thomas’ development has been a work in progress. Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo noted that he struggled in spring practice but showed significant growth by the time fall camp rolled around.
“He’s light-years ahead of where he was in the spring,” Bobo said on Aug. 6, via 247Sports. “He gives you another big, big body outside that can catch those balls that are contested.”
While Thomas has yet to make the impact many expected, his size, experience, and continued improvement could position him for a bigger role as Georgia moves into the more demanding stretch of its schedule.
