“Ohio State Holds Firm at No. 1 as Conference Play Heats Up: Week 4 AP Top 25 Ballot”

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Conference play is now underway for most teams, officially kicking off the race toward championship weekend.

Some teams passed their first tests with flying colors, firmly staking their claim in the national conversation. Others stumbled during what was essentially a “prove it” week for squads still riding on preseason hype. A handful of teams spent the weekend on early bye weeks, observing from the sidelines. I opted not to make significant changes for those teams, given the resumes they had already built. At the top, Ohio State remains firmly in the No. 1 spot.

There was some movement within the top 25 this week, highlighted by a new team breaking into the top five after putting up over 60 points against a top-10 conference opponent.
