As updates about the Milwaukee Brewers’ present lineup decrease at this time of year, a past player from the organization has garnered attention for securing a contract with a different team.
The Brewers lineup seems to be complete for the start of the 2025 season, yet teams throughout the league are continuing to make changes at both minor and major league levels. On the East Coast, the Boston Red Sox added a former Brewer to strengthen their minor league roster.
“On Tuesday, El Extra Base’s Daniel Álvarez-Montes reported that the Boston Red Sox have signed infielder Abraham Toro to a minor league contract that includes an invitation to major league Spring Training.”
Toro posted a .444 average with two home runs, nine RBIs, and a 1.302 OPS over a very limited sample of just nine games for the Brewers in 2023, significantly boosting his stats. The 28-year-old has a career batting average of .220 and a .643 OPS over 365 games played with the Brewers, Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, and Oakland Athletics.
The third baseman possesses significant major league experience from his six-year career but will be competing for a place on the Red Sox’s roster.
