Heading into the 2025 season, Alabama’s wide receiver room could be the most electrifying unit on the roster. Leading the way is former five-star standout Ryan Williams, joined by dynamic returners Germie Bernard and Isaiah Horton. But it’s not just the veterans making noise—freshman Lotzeir Brooks is already turning heads, and fellow newcomer Derek Meadows is drawing attention as well.
Head coach Kalen DeBoer has a proven track record when it comes to developing elite receivers. During his time at Washington, he coached Rome Odunze, Jalen McMillan, and Ja’Lynn Polk—each of whom made the leap to the NFL. That success is now a key part of his recruiting pitch, especially to Florida native Somourian Wingo.
Wingo, a four-star receiver ranked No. 157 nationally and the No. 23 wideout in the 2026 class (per On3), recently released his top five schools: Alabama, Miami, Florida, LSU, and South Carolina. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound playmaker hauled in 65 catches for 1,040 yards and 12 touchdowns last season at St. Augustine High School.
Alabama’s recruiting momentum remains strong. According to the On3 Team Industry Rankings, the Crimson Tide holds the No. 7 class in the nation with five commitments, including five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds. The Tide is also trending for five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan, the No. 2 receiver in the 2026 class. Morgan, from Alexander City, Alabama, is slated for an official visit on June 20 and has set his commitment date for July 2.
