FAYETTEVILLE — Defensive lineman Ari Slocum announced Tuesday that he has reopened his recruitment, ending his commitment to Arkansas that began in January.
Slocum, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound prospect from Union Parish High School in Farmerville, La., originally chose the Razorbacks over Missouri, Houston, Purdue and several others.
A consensus three-star recruit, Slocum was recruited by former defensive line coach Deke Adams, who was dismissed Monday. His departure came a day after head coach Sam Pittman was fired. Defensive coordinator Travis Williams and co-defensive coordinator Marcus Woodson were also let go on Monday.
Slocum becomes the fifth defensive commitment to reconsider his options following the staff changes, and the ninth Arkansas pledge to reopen his recruitment since the start of Septembe
