Arkansas head coach John Calipari has a strong track record of tapping into international talent, and he’s added another overseas prospect to his 2025-26 roster.
According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, Bosnian center Elmir Dzafic has committed to the Razorbacks. The 7-foot, 19-year-old played last season for KK Bosna Sarajevo in the Adriatic League Second Division.
Dzafic is the second international recruit joining Arkansas this offseason, alongside Lebanese guard Karim Rtail. He follows the path of former Razorback Zvonimir Ivisic, another European big man with professional experience. With Ivisic transferring to Illinois, Dzafic could help anchor a retooled Arkansas frontcourt.
While his role with KK Bosna Sarajevo was limited—he averaged 2.2 points and 1.2 rebounds—Dzafic showed promise on the international stage. He averaged 13.1 points, 10 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2023 FIBA U18 European Championship (Division B).
Known for his physicality in the paint, Dzafic is one of seven newcomers expected to bolster a Razorbacks team looking to compete for the SEC crown. Arkansas returns key contributors like DJ Wagner, Karter Knox, Trevon Brazile, and Billy Richmond from last season’s 22-14 squad. The Hogs also added frontcourt depth through transfers Nick Pringle (South Carolina) and Malique Ewin (Florida State).
