The Washington Mystics will be without rookie guard Georgia Amoore for the 2025 WNBA season after she suffered a torn ACL during a recent practice.

The team announced Friday that Amoore underwent successful surgery to repair the injury in her right knee and will miss her debut season as she begins the recovery process.

Amoore is coming off a stellar final collegiate season at Kentucky, where she averaged 19.6 points and 6.9 assists per game. Her standout play helped lead the Wildcats to their first NCAA Tournament victory since 2021 and earned her All-American honors.

She went on to make history as Kentucky’s first WNBA first-round pick since Rhyne Howard in 2022, with the Mystics selecting the 5-foot-6 guard sixth overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Now, Amoore will focus on rehab with hopes of returning to action when the 2026 season begins.
