FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas football is tweaking its sideline operations heading into the 2025 season.
Offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino will shift from the field to the press box on game days, where he’ll handle play-calling duties from a stadium booth. He’ll be joined upstairs by tight ends coach Morgan Turner, while the rest of the staff remains on the sideline.
“That’s how we’re going to start,” head coach Sam Pittman said during Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference. “Bobby actually approached me and felt like he could see the field better, be a better offensive coordinator up there.”
The move marks a change from Petrino’s approach last season, when he opted to coach from the field in his first year back with Arkansas. In 2023 at Texas A&M, Petrino worked from the booth, though then-head coach Jimbo Fisher maintained some influence over the Aggies’ offense.
Arkansas is counting on Petrino’s perspective from above to sharpen its offensive efficiency as the Razorbacks prepare for the 2025 campaign.
