In a powerful act of generosity and social commitment, Auburn Tigers football standout Cam Coleman has announced a $7.5 million personal investment to convert his late grandfather’s estate into a fully operational shelter for homeless and at-risk youth in Alabama.
The 19-year-old wide receiver, regarded as one of the top prospects in college football, revealed the initiative during a heartfelt press conference Friday morning. The project, titled “Coleman’s Corner,” will include 40 beds, educational resources, mental health counseling, and athletic facilities designed to give disadvantaged youth a second chance.
“This isn’t just about giving back—it’s about building forward,” said Coleman. “I grew up seeing too many kids fall through the cracks. If I can use my platform to change that, I will.”
The shelter, scheduled to open in early 2026, will partner with local schools, social services, and Auburn University to provide transitional support for youth aged 12 to 21.
Coach Hugh Freeze praised the move, calling it “a moment that defines Cam not just as an athlete, but as a leader and a man.”
Local officials and community leaders also hailed the move as a transformative milestone in the fight against youth homelessness in Alabama.
