BREAKING NEWS: Brewers Trade Brewer Hicklen

Brewers Trade Brewer Hicklen to Tigers for Cash

MILWAUKEE – Brewer Hicklen’s time with the Brewers has come to an end.

The outfielder was traded to the Detroit Tigers on Friday in exchange for cash, just a day after being designated for assignment.

Hicklen made history as the first player in franchise history to share the team’s name. He appeared in six games for Milwaukee last season before being moved in the transaction.

The 29-year-old Hicklen appeared in six games for Milwaukee last season, going hitless in four plate appearances but scoring a run. In Triple-A Nashville, he posted a .246 batting average with 22 home runs, 72 RBIs, and 44 stolen bases across 115 games.

When Milwaukee called him up last September, he became the first player in franchise history to share the team’s name.
