The Kansas City Chiefs made a significant move in their offseason preparations on Tuesday by kicking off their first day of Organized Team Activities (OTAs).
To mark the occasion, the team posted several videos on Instagram, capturing players as they arrived at the training facility for the start of the new season. Among them was star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was seen entering the building dressed in a coordinated light beige pullover hoodie and matching pants.
The video drew a lot of reactions from Chiefs fans on social media, and more than a few of them focused on the fact that Mahomes is now entering his ninth year in the NFL. Fans just couldn’t believe that time had come by so fast.
“Legit cannot believe he’s been in the league 9 years 😮😮😮” a comment on Instagram read.
“Wtf it’s been almost a decade of Mahomes,” said another.
“Year 9 already is crazy 😮” a user posted
The video sparked a wave of reactions from Chiefs fans across social media, many of whom were stunned by a surprising realization: Patrick Mahomes is now entering his ninth season in the NFL.
Fans expressed disbelief at how quickly time has flown since Mahomes first joined the league.
“Legit cannot believe he’s been in the league 9 years 😮😮😮,” one Instagram user commented.
“Wtf it’s been almost a decade of Mahomes,” said another.
“Year 9 already is crazy 😮,” another fan added.
“Ain’t no way it’s already been 9 years 😭,” one fan exclaimed in disbelief.
“No way it’s really year 9… wowza,” another wrote.
“Year NINE?! 😳” a stunned reaction read.
The Kansas City Chiefs selected Patrick Mahomes with the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Now 29 years old, the star quarterback is approaching a full decade in the NFL—a milestone that feels almost surreal to many fans.
While Mahomes remains one of the most dominant forces in football, the reality is that he’s no longer the new kid on the block. As a two-time AP Most Valuable Player, there’s no telling whether he has another ten years in him—but that uncertainty only underscores how important it is to appreciate his greatness while he’s still at the top of his game.
Mahomes’ first eight seasons have flown by, and it won’t be long before the former Texas Tech standout enters the latter chapters of what has already been a legendary NFL career.
