Dawn Staley, head coach of South Carolina’s women’s basketball team, has solidified her reputation as one of the sport’s top coaches.
She recently guided the Gamecocks to the national championship game, overcoming formidable opponents in the NCAA Tournament.
Following the season, where South Carolina fell to the UConn Huskies in the final, Staley took a brief hiatus from coaching.
She added another accomplishment to her illustrious career by publishing her book, *Uncommon Favor*.
After its release, Staley sent copies to several basketball icons, including NBA legend Magic Johnson. Johnson, touched by the gesture, posted on X: “Thank you Coach @dawnstaley for gifting me a copy of your new book Uncommon Favor! Congratulations and keep blessing the world.”

Since taking the helm as head coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks in 2008, Staley has established herself as one of the greatest coaches in college basketball history. Under her leadership, the Gamecocks have secured three national championships, made seven Final Four appearances, and won nine SEC regular-season titles and nine SEC Tournament titles, cementing her legacy in the sport.
