At this time last year, Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.) point guard Dylan Mingo was ranked No. 17 overall in the 247Sports Composite for the 2026 class. Fast forward to now, and the 6-foot-5, 180-pound five-star has climbed into the top 10, landing at No. 9 nationally and No. 3 among point guards. His growing offer list is beginning to match his rising profile, with North Carolina recently extending an offer—marking his first from a blueblood program.
Mingo announced the UNC offer on social media just days after revealing another ACC addition to his recruitment: Louisville.
“Make no mistake—Mingo is quick, with instincts off the bounce that are well above average,” 247Sports’ Eric Bossi observed after watching him during EYBL action earlier this spring. “But what really makes him so difficult to contain is the deceptive pace he plays with. He never looks like he’s in a rush—until suddenly, the defender in front of him is frozen, and Mingo’s already gone.”
UNC head coach Hubert Davis and his staff have already handed out more than a dozen offers in the 2026 recruiting class. While the Tar Heels have yet to secure their first commitment of the cycle, it’s important to note that only three of the top 50 rising seniors in the class have committed to any program so far.
