Kon Knueppel’s name continues to rise among the top prospects for next month’s NBA Draft. Following an outstanding freshman campaign at Duke, Knueppel joined forces with standout teammate Cooper Flagg and head coach Jon Scheyer to propel the Blue Devils to a Final Four appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Despite falling to the Houston Cougars in San Antonio, the season was a memorable one. Duke captured both the ACC regular season and tournament championships, reinforcing their status as one of the elite programs in college basketball. Now, Knueppel is ready for the next step in his journey: the NBA.
At a recent Priority Sports pro day, Knueppel impressed scouts with a strong showing during workouts.
ESPN and DraftExpress analyst Jonathan Givony praised Knueppel’s performance and later spoke with the former Duke guard about what NBA teams can expect if they draft him.
“I think somebody who’s just really competitive and wants to win. I think that’s most important,” Knueppel said. “I think we saw that at Duke last year, and that’s what I want to do at the next level as well.”
Looking back on his time at Duke, Knueppel was full of appreciation.
“I just wanted to go in there and contribute,” he said. “I’m glad I chose Duke. It turned out pretty nicely for me.”
Knueppel appeared in all 39 games during his lone season in Durham, averaging 14.4 points and 30.5 minutes per contest. The sharpshooter from Milwaukee showcased remarkable efficiency, particularly from the free-throw line, where he converted an impressive 91.4% of his attempts.
One of his most memorable performances came in the NCAA Tournament’s Elite Eight, where he poured in 21 points over 35 minutes to power Duke past Alabama in a commanding 86–65 victory.
With his blend of size, shooting ability, and relentless competitiveness, Knueppel has become a highly coveted prospect among NBA front offices. As the draft draws closer, his stock continues to climb.
