Unless something unexpected happens, Duke is set to lose a significant chunk of talent heading into next season, leaving some major roles to fill on the roster.
The Blue Devils are currently in the mix for a player who could help offset those losses in a big way.
Princeton junior Xavian Lee has entered the transfer portal after a standout season, where he averaged 16.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game for the Tigers.
According to insider Jeff Goodman, Lee has narrowed his options down to three schools: Duke, Florida, and St. John’s.
Florida is coming off a national championship run and will be looking to replace standout guard Walter Clayton Jr. Meanwhile, Duke saw its season end in a crushing Final Four loss and is likely to lose top talents Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, and Khaman Maluach to the NBA Draft.
St. John’s, under Rick Pitino, just had its best season in 25 years, making a Sweet 16 appearance before falling to John Calipari’s Arkansas squad.
Lee is one of the most sought-after names still available in the portal and would be a major addition for any program.
If Jon Scheyer can land him, it would be a huge boost to Duke’s outlook for the 2025–26 season.
