The Wisconsin Badgers have set their exhibition game, offering fans a chance to see the team in action before the regular season begins. In the Badgers’ press release, which includes ticket information, head coach Greg Gard expressed his enthusiasm: “This is a great opportunity for our program to take on a Power-Four team in our backyard in an exhibition setting. It will be a terrific first test for us in late October. We know we have a lot of Badger fans and alums in Milwaukee, and we’re excited for them to get an early look at our team.”
This year’s Badgers squad features significant new talent. At least three projected starters are transfers: Nick Boyd from San Diego State, Andrew Rohde from Virginia, and Austin Rapp from Portland. The team also welcomes Braeden Carrington, who previously played at Minnesota and most recently at Tulsa. Additionally, Greg Gard’s recruiting class includes four players, highlighted by international recruit Aleksas Bieliauskas. Despite the influx of new faces, the Badgers retain two returning starters: John Blackwell, who opted to return to Wisconsin instead of entering the NBA Draft, and big man Nolan Winter. This blend of fresh talent and returning experience promises an exciting matchup against the Sooners.
