Atlanta Falcons star AJ Terrell says he’s excited to join forces with Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker.
The Georgia Bulldogs had an impressive showing in the 2025 NFL Draft, with 13 players selected — among them standout linebacker Jalon Walker. The Atlanta Falcons picked Walker in the first round with the 15th overall pick, making him the first Georgia player the franchise has taken in the first two rounds since 1966.
The Falcons organization was thrilled to land Walker, especially since they didn’t expect him to still be available at that point in the draft. One player who was particularly excited was star cornerback AJ Terrell, who shared his enthusiasm about teaming up with Walker.
“One thing about the back end — a safety or a corner — if we value anything, it’s the D-line,” Terrell said on the Waterboyz Show. “Guys who can get to the quarterback make your job easier. I tell people all the time, you can have the worst corner or safety back there and they’ll look like All-Pros with a strong front. With those two additions to our defense, I’m really hyped. I definitely texted Jalon when he got drafted and told him, ‘Let’s get it.'”
The Falcons have long struggled to consistently pressure opposing quarterbacks, but they addressed that issue head-on in this year’s draft. After selecting Walker, they traded back into the first round to snag Tennessee EDGE rusher James Pearce Jr.
Walker played a key role in Georgia’s dominant pass rush last season, and the Falcons are counting on him to bring that same energy and production to their defense as a rookie.
